In October 2018, an Engineer after graduating university discovered one of his true passion in life. Inspired by his own love of Collecting and having outfits based of his idea and description , from a small Region in Abuja, Nigeria, Bobby Dimas became obsessed with understanding and putting into craft his ideas for fashion, and so Junk was Born.
It has always been a dream to one day look at my hand crafts of design on an outfit worn by many. Growing up my favorite outfit had to be a character T-shirt, or hoodie. It has always been a fantasy to have something of my craft out there”. I wanted to wear my own brand; street wears filled with various artistic expressions. Just like many young creatives, I didn’t understand the process of coming up with a brand until 2022.
The name Junk – As many will wonder why such a name. Growing up I realized how much time and memories tend to fade away, and so is the reality and culture I grew up in. JUNK as we know means – old/discarded items. Better known as TARKACE in my Language (Hausa). The culture, the memories, the childhood and Africa as a whole is what the designs of our brand are centered around.
